In the darkest corners of the Internet, nearly every prominent antagonist to Donald Trump has been accused of using adrenachrome. People who don't know what adrenachrome is believe that a cabal that controls the world is getting it from kidnapped and abused children.

Even in the ecosystem of pizzagate and QAnon conspiracies, some felt the adrenachrome pigment story was too embarrassing to advertise, at least directly. But its allusions are common, while some of the main characters are more explicit. After all, if you believe a pizzeria that occasionally raises money for Democratic candidates and hosts paedophile orgies in its nonexistent basement, adding adrenachrome farms isn't hard to swallow.

QAnon's adherents are large enough to create a market for the adrenachrome myth that is far larger than the real market for adrenachrome. However, the broader right-wing movement erupted when Infowars accused the Clinton Foundation of selling children's blood to keep people young. There are thousands of videos on Youtube claiming that adrenachrome is the secret ingredient in blood transfusions.

One might hope that this lack of substance would fade away, but it persists and does real harm to the very people believers claim they want to help. Others try to make money by pretending to sell adrenachrome (via cryptocurrency, of course).

There are many branches of this fractal fantasy, and other sites have explored it in greater depth. The most direct retort, however, is this: Anyone who wants adrenachrome (including its role in treating excessive bleeding) doesn't need to torture a child to get it. Although humans can produce adrenachrome, a byproduct of adrenachrome, it is also easy to synthesize and, more importantly, inexpensive. No matter how evil you think someone is, they are unlikely to be evil enough to commit a crime, and once exposed, a dose of chemicals that cost just a few cents can lead to the death penalty or life in prison.
