CAHPS for MIPS Survey; A Guide for MIPS 2023 Registration

Comments ยท 82 Views

CAHPS for the MIPS Survey is an optional measure for MIPS 2023 participants. It is mainly the assessment of patient experience for services rendered by providers.

MIPS 2023 is ongoing currently, and eligible clinicians are working hard to retain their eligibility until the end of the year. The performance year 2023 is especially hard for the participants. This is because of significant amendments in the PFS final rule for PY 2023 by CMS. The federal government has done so not only for the MIPS program but also for all other QPP programs as well. Well, there is one thing that is still unchanged. These are the timelines and deadlines set for the MIPS program.

We all know that for MIPS, clinicians have eligibility determination periods. And during these segments, the clinicians focus on their performance the most. However, they have to keep pace with the upcoming events. Therefore, they timely get registrations on several platforms by making a clear decision in the beginning. So, the registration for CAHPS for the MIPS Survey is one such decision.

In the blog, we will see:

  • What is CAHPS for the MIPS Survey?
  • Who must register for it in MIPS 2023?
  • What is the process for registration?
  • How can clinicians cancel the registration?

CAHPS for the MIPS Survey

The CAHPS for MIPS Survey is designed to gauge how satisfied patients are with the medical treatment they got from MIPS-eligible providers. In the survey, patients are asked to rate their experiences with various aspects of care. These aspects may include coordination of care, access to care, and communication with providers. Following that, we use the survey data to determine the MIPS patient experience score. It is one way to decide a clinician's MIPS payment adjustment.
