Russia has been a popular destination for international students to study MBBS since Soviet times. According to the "Directory of World Medical Schools" of the World Health Organization (WHO), Russia occupies almost 30 places in the top 100 ranked medical universities. Graduates of Russian medical universities are currently working in leading hospitals around the world. MBBS from Russia is a preferred choice for international students due to higher subsidized fees by the Russian Ministry of Health and Education as compared to other western countries. But students must have secured at least 50% (in PCB) or above in their CBSE/ISC 12th results. Tuition fees at popular universities range from 193,000 to 874,000 Russian rubles. It differs from Indian tariffs. It ranges from 1.8 lakh to 8.5 lakh per annum. Graduates must appear in the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) to practice legally in India.
