As part of the Italian brand’s renewed focus on mountain bikes leading up to the 2024 Olimpic Games, Pinarello is launching a redesigned Dogma XC full-suspension race bike. The Dogma XC is already a proven race winner, with Pauline Ferrand-Prévot taking victory on the bike’s debut in the recent French Cup and Pidcock claiming victory in last weekend's Swiss Cup.

Pinarello Dogma XC Highlights
  • Geometry developed for dual travel setups:
    • Front: 100mm – Rear 90mm (with 190x45mm rear shock)
    • Front: 120mm – Rear 100mm (with 210 x 50mm rear shock)
  • Max tire clearance: 29x2.35"
  • Two bottle mounts in the front triangle
  • Flex stay design
Pinarello launched the original Dogma XC hardtail in the early days of 29ers way back in 2012. Development of the new Dogma XC began in the autumn of 2022 and underwent an intense period of testing with Ferrand-Prévot, Pidcock, and the INEOS Grenadiers’ technical team.

The Dogma XC follows a well-worn, but highly effective formula of using a flex stay design to minimize weight, a shock mounted high on the frame to allow space for two water bottles within the mainframe and relatively long reach numbers with relaxed head angles by traditional cross-country standards (455mm with a 67.5° head angle for a size medium frame.) This puts Pinarello's new off-road race bike in good company with contemporary XC full suspensions such as the Santa Cruz Blur XC, Cannondale Scalpel, and Alled's Echo.

INEOS Grenadiers riders Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and Tom Pidcock will be competing on the Dogma XC at the opening round of the UCI Cross-country World Cup in Nové Město, Czech Republic, on 11th – 14 May.

“I’m really looking forward to trying this new Pinarello Dogma XC out at Nové Město. I got my first look at it back in March and my initial impressions were positive. It handles brilliantly, is super-responsive, and ultimately is fast. It’s a bike that’s still in development, and it’s going to be fun working with Pinarello to make it even better. I’ve never really been involved in the development process of a bike before, feeding my thoughts and suggestions back in, but it’s something I’m definitely enjoying and Pinarello’s engineers are committed to producing bikes that help us win races,” Piddock said.

The gold flourishes on Pidcock’s bike are a tribute to his gold medal-winning performance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The Dogma XC will be available commercially in March 2024 and there is a second, hardtail frame also being developed to meet the demands of other World Cup circuits. US pricing, specs, and weights are yet to be announced.
