Step 1. Check Scheduled Automatic Backup Settings

  • Firstly, open QuickBooks and click on File and select save copy or backup option. The workflow will get open.
  • Now choose backup copy and click Next.
  • If you haven’t set the backup defaults then click on options and do the needful and click next.
  • Select change location or make use of location as per the preference and click Next again.
  • Now click on the options tab stating save it now and schedule future backups and click on the Next button.
  • Now select the save backup copy automatically when I choose my company file every time option and enter the number in the number filed and click Finish.

Step 2. Using QuickBooks Verify and Rebuild Data Utility

Open QuickBooks and click on File menu and select utilities option and click on verify data option.

Now choose the option stating QB scan all the company files and data and check the damage.

A popup will appear stating your Data has lost integrity. Now close this message and click on the File menu.

Choose the Backup Company Data popup window and get a backup of the data on the desktop and click OK.

The tool will repair the damage in the company file.

Once you see a message: Rebuild has completed, click OK and try scheduling now.

Step 3: Run QuickBooks in Compatibility Mode for Windows Version

  • Open the system and right click on the QuickBooks icon on the desktop and then click on the Properties tab.
  • Now find the compatibility tab and select the Run this program in compatibility mode option.
  • Select the Windows version by clicking the drop-down list.
  • Click the Apply tab and the OK tab.
  • Now check if the problem is resolved.
