With the release of the SSC CGL 2022 Notification, SSC has changed the Exam Pattern and Syllabus of the SSC CGL Examination.

The SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) Exam conducted annually by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), now consists of two phases, where each phase needs to be cleared depending on the requirement of different posts. SSC CGL Exam is conducted in two tiers, i.e., Tier – I, and Tier – II as shown below in the table. Check SSC CGL Syllabus 2022 for all the Tiers as given below.

Now, as per the new selection process of the SSC CGL, there will be two Tier Computer Based Examination, i.e. Tier-I, and Tier-II. The Tier-I exam will be qualifying in nature, while the selection will be made on the basis of the merit of the Tier-II exam only.

SSC CGL 2022 Exam Pattern

SSC CGL Tier-I exam is an objective exam that will be conducted online. The exam comprises four sections having 100 questions (25 questions in each section) which will account for a total of 200 marks (maximum 50 marks in each section). The time duration of the Tier-1 exam will be 60 minutes. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Points to remember

  • There is a negative marking in SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam. 0.5 marks will be deducted from every question that is attempted wrong by a candidate in all the sections.
  • The exam duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped and suffering from Cerebral Palsy.
  • After going through the above-mentioned exam pattern of the SSC CGL Exam, the next step is to analyze the topic-wise syllabus of all four sections of the SSC CGL Tier-I Exam given below.

 

SSC CGL 2022 Exam Pattern

Tier II will include conducting Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III in separate shift(s)/ day(s).

  • Paper-I is Compulsory for All the Posts
  • Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts.
  • Paper-III will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-III i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

Paper-I will be conducted in two sessions – Session –I Session II, on the same day. Session-I will include conducting Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III. Session II will include conducting Module II of Section III. Therefore, the duration of Session-I will be 2 hours and 15 minutes, and the duration of Session-II will be 15 minutes only

It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify in all the sections of Paper-I

There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II and Paper-III.
