Nagaur Fort

Nagaur Fort is believed to be built by Naga dynasty in the 4th century due to its architecture and art work, which is why, it has been one of the most popular forts in Rajasthan. It sprawls over an area of 36 acres and abodes several palaces with intricate carvings, which offers an insight of past glory of Rajput rulers, therefore, it turns out to be a wonderful place for history and architecture lovers.  

Deepak Mahal:

Tarkeen Dargah: Dedicated to Sufi saint

Tarkeen was one of the disciples of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer who settled in Nagaur and also took a last breathe, that is why, his tomb is in Nagaur which has been a prominent religious center among the followers of Sufism. Tarkeen tomb is visited by a large number of pilgrims annually.

 Amar Singh’s Cenotaph:

The cenotaph of Amar Singh, one of the must-visit sites in Nagaur, is decorated with flower patterns and made out of yellow stone. Within this premise, there are many canopies, but out of them, three canopies are dedicated to his queens who performed self-immolation after death of their husband that used to be prominent traditions among Rajput Maharani. At the entry of this place, there is a temple which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman but daily offering is prohibited there.   

Jain Glass Temple, Nagaur:

It is highly revered place among the Jain community which draws a large number of pilgrims every year. This shrine is made out of Glass which is taken from old age work of Jain Holy Scriptures and its marvel work is so alluring that will not let your eyes off it. The main idol of this temple is dedicated to Lord Mahavira and other 23 Tirthankaras as well. Therefore, the sightseeing of Nagaur cannot be ignored by tourists, because it has so many things to offer.

What Is The Best Time To Be In Nagaur

In order to explore Nagaur, the best time starts from October to March. If you plan to visit this town during the summer, it will be scorching hot. That is why, you are recommended not to visit here from April to July. Located between Jodhpur and Bikaner, it can be accessed by air, train, and road with ease from all the corners of the India.

Nagaur does not have air port; the nearest air port is Jodhpur which is around 144 KM to Nagaur. The nearest railway station is Bikaner which is about 100 Km from Nagaur.
