Enjoy your special day with the best wedding venues

Whether you’re celebrating with your closest friends and family or a larger group, there’s something for everyone at Santa Monica Beach. This opulent venue offers everything you need to host the perfect wedding day.

Generally speaking, weddings that are more than 50 people or include large props or organized seating will require a location permit. Check with your city or Los Angeles County about specific rules.

Regent Santa Monica Beach

Set on a coveted coastline location steps from Santa Monica beach weddings, Regent Santa Monica Beach celebrates the beauty of unexpected harmony through contrasts, delivering inspired stays with a balance of serenity and a touch of decadence. The resort’s elegant yet tranquil rooms and suites, a destination spa and wellness center and unforgettable epicurean experiences are designed to captivate travelers from near and far.

Guests can relax in beautifully appointed suites featuring oversized bathrooms that set a new standard for spaciousness, complemented with luxurious soaking tubs, rainfall showers, bidets in the water closet and double vanities. Dedicated Regent Experience Agents will help curate stays based on individual preferences, crafting an elevated experience beyond expectation.

The property features a restaurant from heralded chef Michael Mina, a cafe and lifestyle boutique from celebrity entrepreneur and philanthropist Ayesha Curry’s Sweet July brand offering high-quality bespoke products for home and self, and more. Other highlights include a stunning beachfront pool deck and a 10,000-square-foot Guerlain wellness spa. Upon opening this summer on the California coastline, the property will mark the debut of Regent’s reimagined upper-tier luxury brand in the Americas and serve as its flagship.

Socalo

Located within the Gateway Hotel in Santa Monica, Socalo is the beachy California canteen and Mexican pub from Border Grill mavens Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken. It serves conscientiously-sourced, seasonal SoCal Mexican fare with quick counter service for lunch and full-service dining at dinner. Socalo uses organic rice, beans and corn tortillas; seasonal and local produce; and antibiotic/hormone-free meats and poultry. It also offers cocktails featuring small-batch spirits and Mexican wines.

The menu is inspired by the chefs’ recent travels to Tijuana, including lamb birria tacos and platters of Baja seafood and grilled arrachera. Other highlights include a toasted rye macaroni with fennel sausage and the Duck Carnitas Cassoulet.

The Socalo wedding venue is available for indoor and outdoor use, and can accommodate up to 99 guests. It features a veranda, shaded sidewalk seating and an open-air patio. The restaurant’s in-house catering team can prepare mouthwatering hors d’oeuvres, stations, buffets, or sit-down meals for your special day. They can also assist with linens, florals, rentals, photography, and audio/visual elements. They can even help you create a custom menu and a special cocktail.

Shutters on the Beach

White sand beaches, the sun reflecting off the Pacific and a soft ocean breeze welcome you to Shutters on the Beach. Located in one of Southern California’s most desirable enclaves, this hotel offers leisurely seaside living at its best.

Atop a cliff overlooking the ocean, the hotel’s white shingled buildings were designed to look like East Coast beach houses and were redone in 2005 by Michael Smith (the designer who gave the Obama White House its signature look). The lobby has two fireplaces and features works by Modern masters including David Hockney and Roy Lichtenstein.

All 198 rooms and suites feel like chic ocean cottages. All feature namesake white shutter doors opening onto expansive terraces or balconies perfect for taking in pink California sunsets and cool Pacific breezes. Rooms also have hardwood floors, refined Tibetan rugs and luxurious linens. Some have a peek-a-boo window between the bedroom and bathroom, complete with a jetted tub that is often adorned by one of the hotel’s signature rubber whale toys. For those wanting to explore, the Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade are within walking distance.

Michael’s Santa Monica

Founded in 1979, Michael’s is often credited with putting California cuisine on the map. Owner Michael McCarty, now 60, was just 24 when it opened, a young whippersnapper who helped spawn a generation of celebrity chefs. His kitchen is a hub of creative energy. His staff includes a who’s who of LA chefs: Jonathan Waxman, Brooke Williamson, Nancy Silverton and Sang Yoon.

The restaurant has a beautiful garden area and two private rooms, making it the perfect place to host your big day. The indoor and outdoor spaces can accommodate up to 350 guests. The restaurant also offers a variety of delicious food options for your wedding reception.

The menu includes seasonal dishes, like petite quail marinated in turmeric and coconut milk with grilled for a smoky, sweet flavor. The menu also features seafood, including a whole roasted branzino, and local vegetables. Its desserts are few in number but include a flourless chocolate cake with whipped cream and a fine creme brulee. The wine list features a wide selection of wines from around the world.

The Victorian

The Victorian is a luxurious boutique hotel that offers romantic historic accommodations with thoroughly modern amenities. It features original fourteen and sixteen foot ceilings in each of its unique and nostalgic rooms, each with a private bath. The hotel also includes vintage fixtures and furnishings throughout, as well as modern amenities such as free WiFi and flat screen TVs. It is ideal for romantic getaways, family vacations, and business travel. It also has a wedding, banquet and meeting facility. The hotel is located in the quaint village of Ferndale.

The Victorian is within walking distance of many popular tourist attractions, including Pacific Biological Laboratories and A Taste of Monterey.
